Production of Nanoparticles by Chemical Route

The principle behind the process is that molecules that can interact with the surface of a nanoparticle influence nucleation and growth. Synthesis process is shown in the following figure. 

The main ingredients are a metal compound, and metal salt that is dissolved in an appropriate solvent and introduced as a reducing agent. Surface- Controlling agents are used to obtain very uniform particle sizes in the nanometer range. The final ingredient is a stabilization agent and it prevents uncontrollable growth of the nanoparticles, grants control over the growth rate and particle size, prevents agglomeration of nanoparticles and increases nanoparticle solubility in the desired solvent.
