Finally the monster card is here. AMD has officially
presented Radeon HD 7990 which is based on two graphics chips called Tahiti XT.
The card has been developed under the code name Malta, but it is different from
earlier two-processor design called New Zealand.
The main concern for this development was power consumption.
The Malta has dual-slot cooling, TDP of 375 watts and two 8-pin power
connectors. This is an improvement over the New Zealand design which has triple
slot cooling, 500 watts TDO and requires even three 8-pin power connectors.
As I mentioned before this monster card has two Tahiti
XT GPUs, has total of 4,096 stream processors, 256 TMU and 64 ROP, 6 GB GDDR5
memory and 768-bit width of the memory bus. Slightly higher clocks (in relation
to New Zealand) announce and higher performance, so it has a memory bandwidth
of 576 GB / s (effective stroke 6 GHz), while graphics processors working on a
standard 950 MHz with a turbo clock speed of 1 GHz. The card supports both
CrossFire and has four mini-DisplayPort and a DVI connector, and AMD customers
to gift giving eight games including Far Cry 3 Far Cry 3 Dragon Blood, Crysis 3
Hunter Edition, Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Hitman Absolution , Deus Ex
Human Evolution and others. The recommended price of Radeon HD 7990 is $ 999,
as well as competing Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 and GTX Titan.
