ASUS has presented an interesting external sound card
called Xonar U7, which can be connected to the computer using USB interface.
The card isn’t inside the ASUS ROG line of products so we can conclude that
ASUS doesn’t target only gamers but music and film fans.
Xonar U7 has support for 7.1 surround and Dolby Home
Theater v4 and integrated amplifier for headset suitable for the impedance form
32 to 150 Ohms. Connector for microphone enables connection for gaming
headsets, and control for the microphone and headphones or speakers users
perform through a large potentiometer which serves to switch the audio output
between headphones or speakers.
ASUS Xonar U7 uses Ciruss Logic CS4398 DAC chips with
support for audio resolutions up to 192 kHz/24 bit, and the device has a decent
signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 114 dB. The price of ASUS Xonar U7 has not been
revealed.
