Since the AMD and NVIDIA didn't present their new
generation of graphic processors the manufacturers of graphic cards turn their
way into modification of existing models which are based on existing chips.
PowerColor shared two photos of the upcoming Radeon HD
7850 SCS3 model. The cooler of new Radeon HD 7850 has three aluminum heat
sinks, from which two are situated on the side. From the picture you can see
that this cooler has up to six U-shaped heat pipes which interlace with the fin
array throughout its length. For now PowerColor didn’t reveal any
specifications but some people speculate that this card requires more than two
array slots on the motherboard. Due to a tall construction of the cooler, this
is a normal and necessary thing for the two efficient cooling solutions. From
the pictures we can see that new graphic card will be equipped with three
display outputs: DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort.
I think that AMD and NVIDIA made a right choice because
there isn’t everything in performance. What I want to say is that cooling is
important and the noise of the cooler. If you have a monster graphic card it
you probably complain about the noise. No matter how far they go in development
of graphic cards the decibels from the cooler are still big issue and are very
important factor when you are buying a new card.
