According to the South Korean
site i24news, Samsung has reportedly delayed the issuance of its first mobile
phone-based operating system Tizen for the last quarter of this year.Samsung
was originally planned to issue the devices based on Tizenu during July or
August, but apparently the first device could be played only at IFA in
September. The reason for the delay include problems related to the application
store. It is expected that the first devices based on Tizenu be intended for the
upper segment of the market, and will initially be involved and offer Japanese
mobile operator NTT DoCoMo and Orange France, and they are likely to join the
American Sprint, who also collaborated in the development of the operating
system.
As I mentioned before Tizen is an operating system for
devices including smarthpones, tablets, in-vehicle infotainment devices, and
smart TVs. The Tizen Association has been formed to guide the industry role of
Tizen, including gathering of requirements, identification and facilitation of
service models, and overall industry marketing and education.Tizen provides
application development tools based on the JavaScript libraries jQuery and
jQuery Mobile. Since version 2.0 native application framework is also
available, based on Open Services Platform from the Bada platform. The software
development kit (SDK) allows developers to use HTML5 and related web
technologies to write applications that run on supported devices.
