2.5D elastic display

Scientists MIT's Media Lab have presented the concept of flexible screens that can literally pinch, pull out or push in there. Stretch touchscreen, called Obake, basically the interactive screen on an elastic surface. Based on user interaction with the elastic surface camera with the possibility of measuring the depth estimates and movements, and provides appropriate instructions linear actuators in order to make changes on the surface of the screen. In this way, the surface can make a "mountain" or indentations, and the screen can provide adequate resistance to our movements.
The pair label Obake as a 2.5D interface, alluding to the 3D surface you can tug, but the 2D interface projected onto the surface.
More information about the mode screen can be seen in the attached video.
