Asus has finally officially put on sale SSD solution ROG RAIDR Express for demanding enthusiasts and gamers. ROG RAID Express is demonstrated even at CES, and it is a SSD for the PCI Express interface, which promises significantly higher performance compared to standard SATA solutions.SSD is based on Toshiba's 19-nanometer MLC NAND memory and has two LSI SandForce 2281 controller - ROG RAIDR Express consists of two SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration for optimal performance. Asus lists a total capacity of 240 GB and data transfer speeds up to 830 MB / s for reading and 810 MB / s for writing, or about 100,000 IOPS. There is also a practical DuoMode BIOS switch, which allows unrestricted use of this solution on older motherboards with traditional BIOS, as well as more modern with UEFI-operation. In addition, thanks to technology RAIDR Express ROG HybriDisk can also serve as a fast cache in combination with a conventional drive, and Asus comes with SSD and CrystalDiskMark software, RAM disk and SSD TweakIt Utility. The solution is currently available in Japan at a price of $ 409, but soon to be found on sale in other world markets.
